Careful: Soul Inside is a heartfelt photography project I started in 2015, inspired by my journey into photography and a chance encounter with "King James," a homeless man whose portrait and story changed my perspective forever. Through over 50 portraits captured across Portland, Southern California, Brazil, Denmark, and the UK, I’ve sought to document the stories of people experiencing homelessness.

This project isn’t just about photographs—it's about connection. I approach each subject with genuine curiosity, listening to their stories before asking to take their picture. Some narratives are long and deeply personal; others are just a quote or a moment. Each story adds a layer of humanity, shifting perspectives from seeing "a homeless person" to understanding them as individuals like Glen, who said, “Not all of us are bums, we just had bad luck.”

By combining art and storytelling, Careful: Soul Inside hopes to inspire empathy, raise awareness, and remind us of the beauty and shared humanity in every soul.
